I will be showing my series “Somewhere To Lay My Head” at the Santa Cruz Mountain Art Centre as a part of their show Texture July 25 – September 30 2018.
I love the the human form. I love the way it curves and bends. I love the way it moves and can express. I love the endless variety of variations.
I also love textiles for much the same reasons.
In this series I wanted to play with the relationship between bodies and fabrics, their differences and similarities. Smooth bodies rendered in continuous line ink pen painted in water colour on crisp but soft muslin poised on textural textile landscapes of fabric, fur and chunky hand knit swatches. Each half aiding and supporting the expression of the other.
